Senior Real Estate Associate – London

A leading international law firm

We are seeking a senior real estate lawyer to join a collegiate, non-hierarchical transactional team operating at the top end of the real estate market. The team advises market participants across the full property life cycle, devising bespoke and commercial solutions where real estate is the core asset. Work spans direct and indirect investments into pan-European portfolios and single assets across high-growth sectors — including data centres, healthcare, logistics, operational real estate, student accommodation, PRS, BTR, life sciences and film studios — as well as hotels, offices, retail, iconic London developments, urban regeneration, real estate joint ventures, M&A/private equity and financings.

The team deliberately avoids commodity volume work, so you will have genuine scope to sharpen your legal and commercial skills and be embedded in strategic client relationships. Many deals are off-market, with clients testing new approaches and asset classes. You will work alongside colleagues in construction, corporate, private equity, energy and infrastructure, planning and environmental, property litigation, real estate finance and tax, and with a broader international network across the UK, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the US. Clients include financial investors, multinationals, developers, lenders and the public sector.

As a senior lawyer you will take a lead associate role, managing transactions and teams across practice areas and jurisdictions, or acting as a real estate specialist supporting wider teams. There is a clear transactional bias, with involvement in business development, client team management and disciplined matter management, supported by modern delivery tools and AI. A strong pro bono programme offers further opportunities to contribute across the firm.

  • Senior real estate experience gained at a City firm or a highly regarded overseas common law practice.
  • Sound grounding in real estate as an asset class; corporate real estate experience is helpful but not essential.
  • Excellent document drafting, communication and analytical skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Appetite for developing client relationships and thought leadership.
  • Strong academic record.
