Solicitor / CILEX Lawyer / Experienced Paralegal – Vehicle Hire and Damage

Join a well-established defendant credit hire and repair team, working with a broad client base of insurers and self-insured corporates. The team handles the full spectrum of credit hire disputes—from small track to multi-track—including fraudulent claims, liability, indemnity, and associated losses such as personal injury, credit repair, and diminution.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced paralegal or qualified lawyer to develop a career in a specialist, high-volume litigation area. You will manage a varied caseload of litigated vehicle hire and damage claims, acting as a key point of contact for clients and delivering a high-quality, commercial service.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of litigated vehicle hire and damage claims with appropriate supervision.
• Provide timely, professional, and high-quality service to clients in line with service level agreements.
• Act as a point of contact for clients, demonstrating knowledge and skill commensurate with experience.
• Record accurate management information and meet individual performance measures.
• Support marketing and business development activity, including client training, events, and shadowing days.

Experience and skills required:

• At least 2 years’ experience handling litigated motor claims, with essential experience in credit hire.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and prioritise effectively.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
• Good IT skills, including working knowledge of Excel and Word.
• Commercial awareness, resilience, and a genuine aptitude to learn.

This role is based in either Birmingham or Newport, with flexible and remote working options (office attendance at least once per month for training and client events).

• Solicitor, CILEX Lawyer, or Experienced Paralegal with at least 2 years’ experience handling litigated motor claims.
• Essential experience in credit hire.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload and work within fee structures.
• Strong organisational, communication, and analytical skills.
• IT literacy, including Excel and Word.
• Resilience in negotiation and receptiveness to feedback.
