Solicitor or Senior Associate – Competition & Regulatory (4–6 PQE)

We are seeking a Solicitor or junior Senior Associate (4–6 years’ PQE) with competition law experience to join our national Competition & Regulatory team, based in Melbourne or Sydney. You will work alongside leading practitioners on high-profile, complex matters within a collaborative, high-performing team.

Our national competition practice is recognised as a market leader, ranked Band 1 in a leading Asia-Pacific directory. The team advises major Australian and international corporations across a wide range of industries on all aspects of competition law, including high-profile mergers, competition and consumer law advice, regulatory investigations and associated litigation, market studies, access to essential infrastructure, and sector-specific regulation.

You will have:

• Strong, broad competition and consumer law experience
• Experience in merger reviews and assessments before the national competition regulator
• Experience in competition and consumer law investigations
• Prior experience in an Australian or overseas law firm, or with a competition regulator
• An interest in, and willingness to use, AI tools to enhance client delivery
• A collaborative team style and a positive attitude, with the ability to delegate and mentor junior lawyers
• An ability to identify and resolve complex legal issues with practical, commercially astute solutions
• Excellent written, analytical, communication and research skills, with a strong commitment to client service
• The ability to build and nurture client relationships both within and outside of matters

• Solicitor or Senior Associate with 4–6 years’ PQE in competition law
• Strong, broad competition and consumer law experience
• Experience in merger reviews and competition/consumer investigations
• Prior law firm or regulator experience in Australia or overseas
• Collaborative, positive team approach with mentoring skills
• Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills
