Tax Associate (Century City)

An Am Law 20 firm is seeking tax associates to join its growing tax practice in Century City. This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-profile matters alongside experienced practitioners in a collegial and collaborative environment.

The tax group handles a broad range of transactional tax work, including strategic and private equity M&A, capital markets transactions (such as spin-offs and IPOs), investment fund formation, and real estate and REIT matters. Associates are expected to think creatively about novel and sophisticated problems and to engage directly with clients.

The practice places particular emphasis on interpersonal skills. Candidates should be enthusiastic about interacting directly with clients, participating in public speaking engagements (including large national tax conferences), and making the most of in-office time by meeting face-to-face with colleagues.

• Law school class years 2020 to 2023
• Class-year-appropriate understanding of technical tax law, including strong research and writing abilities
• Experience with strategic and private equity M&A transactions, capital markets (including spin-offs and IPOs), investment fund formation, and/or real estate (including REIT) matters
• Outstanding oral communication and analytical skills
• Top academic credentials and the ability to think creatively about interesting, difficult, and often novel problems
• Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to interact directly with clients and colleagues
