Tax Associate — Subscription & Transfer Documentation

An elite international law firm is seeking an off-track associate to join the subscription agreement and transfer review team within its Tax Department. The role may be based in New York or Washington, DC.

The position focuses on reviewing, negotiating, and tracking the tax portions of investor subscription and transfer documents on behalf of private equity sponsor clients. This is a client-facing role with frequent direct contact with clients.

This is a non-partnership-track position suited to an associate who enjoys detailed documentation work and regular client interaction within a collaborative team.

• J.D. required; admission to the New York or DC Bar (pending admission acceptable).
• Some knowledge of tax law, whether through law school tax coursework or prior tax experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to present well to clients.
• Good academic credentials.
• Exceptional work ethic and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Some proficiency with Excel.
