Seeking a mid-level associate (3–5 years' experience) to join a technology transactions group with openings in San Diego, Los Angeles, or Portland. The role involves drafting, negotiating, and advising on commercial and licensing agreements, product counseling, and IP-related matters for clients across startups, growth-stage companies, and established technology enterprises.

Work will focus on software, cloud services, hardware/semiconductor, AI/machine‑learning products, and related procurement and supply‑chain matters. The team advises on licensing, data/privacy considerations, open source issues, and cross-border technology transactions.

J.D. and active bar membership in good standing
3–5 years' relevant law firm or in‑house experience in technology transactions and licensing
Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
Deep knowledge of IP and commercial contract law as applied to software, hardware, and digital assets
Familiarity with data privacy regimes (e.g., CCPA, GDPR) and open source licensing frameworks
Ability to manage multiple client matters in a fast‑paced environment and work collaboratively on teams
Preferred: technical background (CS, EE, bioengineering) or sector experience in cloud, semiconductor, hardware, AI, or cybersecurity
Preferred: experience with international licensing, cross‑border transactions, or IP aspects of M&A/financing
