Apply in confidence →Seeking a mid-level associate (3–5 years' experience) to join a technology transactions group with openings in San Diego, Los Angeles, or Portland. The role involves drafting, negotiating, and advising on commercial and licensing agreements, product counseling, and IP-related matters for clients across startups, growth-stage companies, and established technology enterprises.
Work will focus on software, cloud services, hardware/semiconductor, AI/machine‑learning products, and related procurement and supply‑chain matters. The team advises on licensing, data/privacy considerations, open source issues, and cross-border technology transactions.
- J.D. and active bar membership in good standing
- 3–5 years' relevant law firm or in‑house experience in technology transactions and licensing
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Deep knowledge of IP and commercial contract law as applied to software, hardware, and digital assets
- Familiarity with data privacy regimes (e.g., CCPA, GDPR) and open source licensing frameworks
- Ability to manage multiple client matters in a fast‑paced environment and work collaboratively on teams
- Preferred: technical background (CS, EE, bioengineering) or sector experience in cloud, semiconductor, hardware, AI, or cybersecurity
- Preferred: experience with international licensing, cross‑border transactions, or IP aspects of M&A/financing
