Seeking an associate to join a busy transportation practice in the Chicago office of a national AmLaw 100 firm. The team defends trucking and freight carriers, brokers, insurers and related industry clients in complex casualty and liability litigation.

The role involves handling all phases of defense litigation: drafting and responding to discovery and pleadings, preparing and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and supporting trial-ready matters. Candidates should be comfortable with trucking-specific issues such as hours-of-service, ECM/data analysis, DOT compliance, accident reconstruction, and negligent hiring/retention claims.

3–6 years of relevant insurance defense litigation experience, with substantial trucking/tractor-trailer and cargo/freight carrier matters
Admission to practice in Illinois required; admission in Michigan a plus

Excellent analytical, writing and case-management skills; ability to work independently and in team settings
