Join a national litigation team in Chicago focused on transportation and trucking defense. The role involves handling insurance-defense matters for freight carriers, brokers, insurers and other transportation-related entities across interstate and intrastate matters.

Typical work includes drafting and responding to pleadings and discovery, preparing and arguing motions, and taking and defending depositions. The team handles issues common to the industry such as DOT compliance, hours-of-service disputes, ECM/data analysis, accident reconstruction and negligent hiring claims.

This is a hands-on litigation position for a self-starter who can manage multiple matters, work independently and collaborate with a team in a fast-paced practice.

Admitted to practice in Illinois; Michigan admission a plus
3–6 years post-qualification experience in insurance-defense litigation, preferably with heavy-trucking/tractor-trailer and cargo/freight matters
Experience drafting pleadings, discovery responses, motions and taking/defending depositions
Strong legal writing, analytic skills and ability to manage competing deadlines
