SpaceX posted $190,000 to $245,000 base for Hawthorne trade counsel in 2026. Level 3 pay there also carries long-term incentives, discretionary bonus eligibility, and an employee stock purchase plan. The Greenhouse posting was published 23 July 2026 and remained live on 9 September 2026. Relativity Space posted Counsel, Trade Compliance in Long Beach at $159,000 to $204,000, plus equity and the company's stated PTO and parental-leave package. That range appeared on Built In Los Angeles; the posting was removed 20 March 2025.
A compensation committee at a listed footwear company said aerospace posting bands were not a usable proxy for importer customs counsel. Mattel, Skechers, Guess, and Honda did not publish a trade-counsel base on employer career pages as of 9 September 2026. Importer pay remains undisclosed even as CAPE files land on those campuses.

Sartori & Partners maps nearly 1.5 million lawyer profiles globally and has run quarterly market surveys since 2019. Across 575 structured interviews with Los Angeles in-house counsel over 36 months, Sartori found that 44 percent said their trade remit shifted to CAPE refund operations after April 2026. Fourteen of Sartori's 22 closed Los Angeles searches needed ACE operators first, not courtroom specialists.
