An Am Law 50 firm is seeking an AI Project Attorney to join its Innovation team, supporting the adoption, integration, and utilization of artificial intelligence across the firm's delivery of legal services. This position may be based in any U.S. office, with consideration for fully remote U.S. locations.

The role collaborates across offices, business units, practice groups, and departments to execute on AI projects and initiatives. Reporting to the Director of AI Innovation, the attorney will work closely with all members of the Innovation team and serve as a subject-matter resource on generative AI and legal technology.

Key areas of focus include developing generative AI workflows, use cases, and prompts for the practice of law; creating use case materials tailored to different practice areas and matter phases; expanding prompt and workflow libraries; and driving utilization among lawyers. The role also involves training and knowledge sharing through one-on-one sessions, hands-on workshops, design-thinking sessions, and roundtables, as well as supporting communities of practice and technology ambassadors.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining expertise in the firm's generative AI tools, assisting with vetting and piloting legal technology, communicating with clients on AI and legal tech solutions, and contributing to internal communications and business development materials.

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution and admission to practice in good standing in a U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an attorney in a law firm or comparable legal environment.
  • Strong technical skills and familiarity with generative AI, large language models, and machine learning in the practice of law.
  • Experience building and developing generative AI workflows, use cases, and prompts.
  • Experience driving and supporting the adoption of legal technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in layman's terms.
  • Strong analytical, project management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter able to work independently with good judgment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Availability to travel as necessary.
