A global law firm
Apply in confidence →An established, global law firm is seeking an Assistant Litigation Team Leader to join its volume motor litigation department, based in Glasgow or Edinburgh. Reporting to the Team Leader, this role combines day-to-day supervision of a team of Case Handlers with a retained caseload of litigated files, particularly road traffic accident (RTA) matters.

The role covers people management—including recruitment, induction, performance reviews and pastoral support—alongside technical management such as case triage and allocation, client file reviews, MI and billing submissions, and approving case strategies.
You will also carry your own more complex, higher-value files, ensure compliance with client SLAs and audit requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement projects across the volume motor department. The firm emphasises collaboration with senior management, business services teams and other team leads, and expects a strong commitment to exceptional client service and quality.
- Experience of litigated RTA claims, with some supervision or mentoring experience preferred
- Strong liability knowledge and the ability to make early decisions with regard to economics and fair treatment of customers
- Experience working to strict SLAs and quality assurance requirements
- Detailed knowledge of fast track, small claims track, stage 3 and portal stayed claims
- Costs knowledge and experience
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Ability to respond effectively to client demands on performance and MI
- Familiarity with MS Office, case management systems and 3E (preferable)
