Seeking a transactional employment associate to join a busy Chicago practice advising private equity and strategic investors on employment matters arising in M&A and refinancing transactions. The role focuses on drafting and negotiating employment-related documents, conducting diligence, and counseling clients on wage & hour, leave, discipline, discrimination, and related employment law issues.

Day-to-day work will include participation in diligence calls with management, negotiating employment and restrictive covenant agreements and ancillary transaction documents, and supporting senior attorneys on pre‑litigation matters and agency filings. The team handles both transactional and employment‑dispute work, so candidates should be comfortable across both areas.

3–6 years' post‑qualification experience handling employment aspects of private equity or M&A transactions
Experience drafting and negotiating employment agreements, offer letters, separation and restrictive covenant agreements
Experience with employment investigations, pre‑litigation matters or agency filings
Admission to practice in Illinois, or eligibility to obtain admission promptly
Strong attention to detail, client management skills and ability to manage priorities under deadlines
