Apply in confidence →Top-tier U.S. practice is seeking a lateral associate with 2–6 years’ experience in executive compensation and employee benefits. The role is open to candidates for U.S. offices (including Boston, Chicago, New York and San Francisco).
The associate will work on executive compensation aspects of corporate transactions (M&A, IPOs, asset sales) and advise on compensation and benefits design, compliance, and related documentation. The role involves drafting and negotiating employment and severance agreements, coordinating with tax and corporate teams, and staying current on ERISA, tax and securities developments.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and strong academic record
- Admission to practice in the state of employment or eligibility for prompt admission
- 2–6 years of relevant law firm experience handling executive compensation and employee benefits matters in M&A and corporate transactions
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, federal and state benefits law, tax and securities rules; experience drafting compensation-related agreements
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in teams; familiarity with legal AI tools preferred
