Associate, Inquiries & Investigations

A global law firm is seeking an Associate with 1–3 years' post-qualification experience to join its Inquiries & Investigations team. This is an opportunity to work on a high-profile public inquiry, supporting complex and sensitive work for a public sector client.

The team is made up of highly experienced lawyers acting for clients in both the public and private sectors. Its work spans acting as solicitors to statutory and non-statutory inquiries, representing core participants, and conducting confidential internal investigations and independent reviews.

This role is offered on a multi-office basis, with longer-term presence in Birmingham, Cardiff or Manchester. Candidates should be flexible and willing to travel as needed, including working on site at client premises.

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with 1–3 years' post-qualification experience
• Experience of public inquiries, whether acting as solicitor to an inquiry or supporting a core participant
• Experience gained in private practice, government, regulatory and/or public sector environments
• Previous experience of large-scale disclosure or document review exercises
• Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail, particularly when handling sensitive information
• Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to work well under pressure to agreed timescales
• Ability to think independently and collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients and counsel
• Willingness and ability to work on site at client premises and to travel flexibly
• Ability to hold or obtain the required level of UK security clearance
