Associate – Intellectual Property & Consumer Markets, Sydney

An opportunity exists for an Associate to join a leading Intellectual Property and Consumer Markets practice in Sydney, working with some of Australia's best-known brands on high-profile IP transactions and brand protection matters.

The role involves close collaboration with senior practitioners, supporting clients across a broad range of industries on both domestic matters and cross-border work in conjunction with a wider global team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Trade mark, design and domain name management, including brand clearance advice and managing significant trade mark portfolios for well-known Australian and global brands.
• Advising on IP asset protection and maintenance, infringement issues and trade mark oppositions.
• IP licensing and commercialisation transactions.
• IP due diligence for M&A transactions.
• Advising on Australian Consumer Law and commercial issues impacting brand clients.
• Other commercial transactions including supply, distribution and marketing arrangements such as influencer and sponsorship agreements.

• A minimum of 1+ years PQE gained within a reputable Intellectual Property/Commercial practice.
• Strong time management and organisational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple conflicting priorities simultaneously.
