An experienced associate is sought to join a busy International Projects, Energy and Infrastructure team in Oman. The role involves working on a variety of matters with a primary focus on power and water projects, PPP, infrastructure development and oil & gas work.

The team acts for a mix of domestic and international clients, and the role will involve collaboration with colleagues across the wider regional Projects, Energy and Infrastructure group. The successful candidate will manage large and complex transactions under partner supervision, review and draft bespoke contracts, and analyse contractual positions.

In addition to fee-earning work, the recruit will build and maintain client relationships, participate in marketing initiatives, and deliver client training seminars and presentations. Excellent prospects for career development are available for the right candidate.

3–5 PQE lawyer with experience gained at a reputable firm
Excellent academic record with a law degree, ideally from a common law jurisdiction
Previous experience in the Omani market
Proven ability to take on responsibility and manage files proactively
Flexibility, positivity and an ability to work effectively in a close-knit office
Willingness to travel for meetings around the GCC
Interest in assisting with marketing and business development
Fluent Arabic and English – written and spoken
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and commercially focused advice
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters concurrently under time pressure
Proven ability to prioritise competing demands and adapt to changing deadlines or client needs
Drive, enthusiasm and commercial awareness
Strong case and time management skills
Commitment to exceeding client expectations
