Apply in confidence →

A national Projects, Infrastructure & Construction practice is seeking an experienced Associate or Senior Associate on a full-time, permanent, hybrid basis. The team operates across multiple UK offices and is looking to strengthen its established national offering.

The role suits a construction lawyer with both contentious and non-contentious experience, though applications are welcome from candidates who specialise in either area and are keen to develop a mixed practice. You will advise high-calibre clients on complex contractual matters with appropriate partner support, across sectors including infrastructure, energy, real estate development, highways, housing, student accommodation and the public sector.

Work spans all stages of the post-contract process, including representing clients in adjudication, arbitration and Technology and Construction Court proceedings, and advising on insolvency issues related to construction projects. The team is ranked by Legal 500 and Chambers and has a strong record on UK infrastructure projects, particularly in clean energy and transport, including high-value complex disputes.

There is genuine opportunity for mid- to senior-level lawyers to progress rapidly within the team and contribute to its continued success, including client relationship building, tender support and business development.

  • Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society registered or equivalent), 1–5 PQE
  • Construction experience gained within a highly regarded projects/construction team
  • Knowledge of standard industry forms such as NEC, JCT and FIDIC
  • Experience of complex construction law matters including delay, disruption, defects, building/fire safety and payment claims
  • Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage workloads and deadlines
  • Commercially aware, enthusiastic about business development and keeping up to date with developments in the practice area and sector
  • Ambitious, collaborative team player able to support senior fee earners and delegate to and receive support from associates, trainees and paralegals
