A global law firm's finance practice seeks an associate to join its structured finance group in London, working closely with partners on a broad range of asset-backed financing transactions.

The team advises borrowers, issuers, sponsors, asset managers and credit funds on asset-backed financing solutions across a wide variety of asset classes, including consumer credit, autos, fintech, SME lending, mortgages, commercial real estate and fund finance. The group is sector agnostic and acts for sponsors, debt investors, specialty finance corporates and banks.

You would typically act on all elements of a financing from structuring and term-sheet stage through closing and post-closing, with responsibility for security and ancillary documents and, depending on experience and transaction complexity, intercreditor arrangements, facilities agreements and debt instruments. The role involves significant client contact and offers a strong platform for an entrepreneurial private credit lawyer, including business development contributions and cross-practice collaboration with corporate, restructuring, banking, regulatory and tax teams.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in London with hybrid working.

Experience advising on structured finance transactions and securitisations preferred
Proactive, with willingness to own clients, workstreams and processes
Experience drafting documents of increasing complexity
Strong organisational and transaction management skills
Adaptable and client-friendly, with excellent relationship skills
Growing confidence conducting commercial negotiations with counterparties
Collegiate team-player able to work effectively with colleagues at all levels
