Our firm's Business Restructuring and Reorganization practice is seeking a Staff Attorney with 4-6 years of experience. In this non-partnership-track, firmwide role, you will support bankruptcy and restructuring matters, coordinating with our internal new matters department to prepare and manage required court disclosures, including retention applications for debtors' counsel, official committees, and special counsel engagements.

Responsibilities also include supporting legal research and writing initiatives, contributing to practice-focused publications on bankruptcy, restructuring, distressed M&A, and related topics. Qualified candidates should have experience with Chapter 11 proceedings, out-of-court restructurings, and distressed acquisitions, particularly on the company side. Strong writing, organizational, and time-management skills, along with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, are essential.

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to, and good standing with, the New York Bar.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in bankruptcy and restructuring, including Chapter 11 proceedings, out-of-court restructurings, and distressed M&A (company-side focus).
  • Experience preparing court disclosures, retention applications, and related filings.
  • Exceptional legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with capability to handle multiple matters under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Application materials: cover letter, resume, writing sample, and law school transcript.
