Apply in confidence →An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor (NQ-3 years PQE) to join our national Large Loss team, handling complex and high-value personal injury claims.
You will manage your own caseload of catastrophic and high-value PI cases, with a focus on injuries of the utmost severity, including brain, spinal, and amputation injuries, as well as substantial dependency fatality claims. The role covers a range of claims, including motor, employers' liability, public liability, and product liability, with claims typically reserved at over £350,000.
You will be part of a supportive team environment, assisting partners and more junior members of the team, while developing your expertise in defendant personal injury litigation.
Key responsibilities
- Assist partners and manage own caseload of catastrophic and high-value PI cases
- Undertake initial investigations, prepare internal strategy reports, and liaise with clients, insurers, police, HSE, and witnesses
- Instruct experts and attend court hearings, conferences, and joint settlement meetings as directed
- Draft letters, reports, reserve sheets, and action plans
- Review and analyse databases to progress claims
- Contribute to the management, supervision, and development of junior team members
- Ensure compliance with CPR, rehabilitation protocols, and data protection procedures
- Keep abreast of legal developments in high-value personal injury
- Meet financial and chargeable targets/KPIs and adhere to quality measures
- Qualified Solicitor with 0-3 years PQE
- Experience managing a defendant personal injury litigation caseload (motor or employers'/public liability preferred)
- High-value large loss experience is not strictly necessary
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of CPR procedures and technical legal ability
- Genuine and demonstrable interest in catastrophic injury and high-value PI work
