A leading law firm is seeking a commercial litigation associate with 4–5 years of experience to join its Commercial Litigation Practice Group in the Chicago office. The role involves handling complex business litigation matters and navigating the practices and procedures of Illinois state and federal courts.

The successful candidate will independently manage significant aspects of litigation matters, including developing case strategy, overseeing all phases of written and document discovery, researching and drafting sophisticated pleadings and dispositive motions, conducting and defending depositions, preparing witnesses, and appearing for status conferences and hearings. The associate will also coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and case team members, and provide strategic guidance throughout the litigation process.

This position offers the chance to lead and manage cases, oversee junior attorneys, and take ownership of key litigation responsibilities. Participation in settlement conferences and negotiations and significant trial preparation experience are preferred. 4–5 years of litigation experience (class years 2021–2022)
JD from an ABA-accredited law school
Active member in good standing of the Illinois Bar
Substantial experience in complex business litigation
Persuasive legal writing and oral advocacy skills
Experience with all phases of discovery, depositions, and motion practice
Top academics required
Preferred: settlement conference and trial preparation experience
