Apply in confidence →We are seeking a Conflicts Attorney for our Am Law 100 law firm. This role is responsible for managing ethical and business risks associated with new client engagements and lateral hires. The Conflicts Attorney will review and analyze conflict search reports, identify potential conflicts of interest, propose resolutions, and communicate directly with firm leadership and attorneys to facilitate the clearance process. Key duties include reviewing engagement terms, preparing written summaries of conflicts issues, obtaining and reviewing waivers, and establishing ethical walls as needed. The role also involves educating attorneys on firm policies and procedures and managing a high-volume workload independently.
This position is open to candidates in multiple U.S. office locations, with remote flexibility noted.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Active bar admission in good standing in any U.S. state or the District of Columbia
- Minimum of two years of conflicts experience in a large law firm environment (preferred)
- Additional legal practice experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of common business structures
- Experience with conflicts databases and related software, preferably Intapp Open
- Experience with commercial databases such as Hoovers, Dun & Bradstreet, and Capital IQ
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to think critically and read for detail while working under time pressure
- Strong skills in issue spotting, follow-up, and resolution
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in risk management decisions
- Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills
