We are seeking a lawyer to join a dedicated conflicts team within a leading international law firm's new business and enterprise risk function. This is an alternative legal career path that uses your legal skills in a strategic, commercial setting, offering unique insight into the firm's global clients and sectors.

The team sits at the intersection of legal ethics, professional responsibility, new business acceptance and firm risk. It manages conflicts of interest, securities trading approvals, information barriers and a range of other professional responsibility compliance issues globally, and plays a key role in shaping firm strategy by liaising with sector leaders, practice heads and business development to ensure new instructions comply with professional obligations and are a commercial fit.

Responsibilities include advising on complex conflicts and confidentiality issues, designing and maintaining information barriers, ensuring compliance with global sanctions and AML obligations, reviewing conflicts-related provisions in client terms, and contributing to training and awareness initiatives. We welcome applicants from any practice group and offer opportunities at various seniority levels, with a minimum of 2 years' experience required.

Admitted to practice as a Solicitor in Australia or another relevant jurisdiction.
Minimum of 2 years' post-admission experience.
Excellent research, technical and analytical skills.
Proactive approach and ability to adapt to competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
Desire to work outside traditional private practice in an alternative legal career.
Excellent communication skills and collegiality within a team.
Strong commercial awareness and ability to provide clear, practical and frank advice.
Curiosity about new technology, including AI, is advantageous.
