A leading international law firm is seeking a commercially minded solicitor to join a dedicated client onboarding and matter engagement function sitting at the intersection of legal risk, compliance, and strategic client management.

In this role, roughly 80% of your time will be spent drafting and negotiating client contracts, working directly with senior stakeholders and specialist teams to reach commercially sound outcomes while protecting the firm from legal, financial, and reputational risk. You will manage the full client terms lifecycle — coordinating review, amendment, negotiation, approval, storage, tagging, and operationalisation of client agreements — and help internal legal and business teams understand client expectations around compliance, billing, and conduct standards.

You will also contribute to improving processes, systems, and best practice for managing client agreements, and act as a day-to-day point of contact for queries about client terms. The role offers genuine influence and autonomy within a collaborative wider team.

Flexible CBD-based working options are available in either Sydney or Melbourne.

4–5 years' post-qualification experience as a solicitor, or comparable experience in a law firm or law firm business-intake team
Law degree or legal qualification with strong commercial contract review experience
Ability to balance risk appetite, commercial considerations, and reputational factors
Experience reviewing and negotiating client agreements viewed favourably
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a track record of influencing diverse stakeholders
Detail-oriented, strategic thinker able to multi-task with a proactive, flexible attitude
