A leading international law firm
Apply in confidence →An international law firm is seeking a Corporate Associate (2-4 PQE) to join its highly regarded and collaborative Corporate and Finance practice within its MENA offering. The role advises a diverse international client base on complex, high-value corporate, commercial and finance transactions, with a particular focus on cross-border and Middle East-related work, and works closely with a Senior Associate and the broader regional practice.
You will work across a full spectrum of corporate matters, including corporate advisory and governance, private capital structuring and shareholder arrangements, acquisitions and disposals, investments, joint ventures and strategic partnerships, commercial contracts ancillary to transactions, group reorganisations and restructurings, banking and finance transactions, security, guarantee and enforceability matters (including legal opinions), and financial services regulatory matters under the applicable regional rulebook. Transactions frequently involve cross-border elements across the GCC, UK and other international jurisdictions, and the role works closely with colleagues across international offices and with external counsel.
The position combines firm matters with client secondment work, which may include working on-site within a client's in-house legal team on a part-time or ongoing basis. The team serves governments, central banks, regulators, multinational corporates, financial institutions, private capital investors, entrepreneurs, family offices and high-net-worth individuals, and collaborates with practices including Private Wealth, Litigation, Regulatory, Employment and Real Estate. The firm offers a strong knowledge-sharing culture with a comprehensive training programme, established know-how systems and specialist support.
- Qualified solicitor in a common law jurisdiction (England & Wales qualification preferred but not essential); 2-4 years' PQE.
- Experience advising clients in the GCC region on corporate, commercial and finance matters.
- Experience of Islamic finance work is desirable.
- Arabic language skills (written and spoken) preferred but not essential.
- Strong drafting, due diligence and transaction-management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload under pressure.
- Excellent team-working, communication and client-relationship skills, with a commercial, detail-focused and flexible approach.
