Corporate Restructuring Associate — Chicago

Mid-level associate role in a major firm’s Chicago restructuring group, focused on both in-court and out-of-court matters. The role involves representing lenders and debtors on complex business reorganizations, workouts and Chapter 11 proceedings across a range of industries.

Day-to-day work will include negotiating and drafting loan and workout documents, exercising remedies, and preparing core restructuring pleadings and documents such as plans of reorganization, restructuring support agreements and first-day motions. The team handles sophisticated matters for institutional and private credit lenders as well as large public and private companies.

Candidates should be well organized with strong analytical, writing and verbal skills and excellent academic credentials. Illinois bar admission is required.

• Minimum ~4 years of bankruptcy/restructuring experience (out-of-court restructurings, workouts and Chapter 11 matters)
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating loan documents, plans of reorganization, RSAs, first-day motions and related pleadings
• Experience representing both lenders and debtors on complex restructurings
• Admission to the Illinois Bar
• Strong academic record, excellent organization, analytical, writing and oral communication skills
