Apply in confidence →A leading global law firm is seeking a litigator to join its Office of the General Counsel as Counsel, Litigation and Discovery. Reporting to the General Counsel and working closely with other members of the office, this role handles a broad range of litigation-related matters while supporting the group's wider risk management work.
Responsibilities span dispute and litigation management — analyzing and managing disputes and pre-litigation matters from initial fact investigation through resolution, drafting demand letters and related correspondence, interacting with outside and opposing counsel, and responding to non-party subpoenas and other legal process — as well as document and discovery management, including conducting document collection and review, managing litigation holds, and supervising preservation.
The role also involves legal research and memoranda on litigation, ethics, and risk management issues, drafting and revising firm templates and policies, preparing training materials for attorneys and professional staff, and providing general support across the office's risk management duties.
This position is available full-time or part-time with hybrid remote flexibility and is open across multiple U.S. offices.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active bar license in California or another jurisdiction where the firm maintains an office
- 3+ years of litigation experience at a law firm
- Experience with professional responsibility, risk management, or law firm loss-prevention matters is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, research, writing, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments while managing shifting priorities
- Excellent discretion and professionalism handling confidential and sensitive information
