An established Finance & Banking practice is seeking a debt finance associate with one to three years of experience to join its Washington, DC office. The role centers on representing lenders, borrowers and private equity sponsors in a broad range of debt financing transactions.

The work spans secured lending, transaction closings, and the drafting of documents and issues lists. Candidates with exposure to acquisition financing (including commitment letters), debt securities offerings such as high yield and/or convertible notes, and Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code will be well positioned.

The team handles multiple, varied projects simultaneously and values strong attention to detail and high academic achievement. This is an opportunity to build deep transactional experience within a sophisticated finance platform.

1–3 years of experience representing lenders, borrowers and/or private equity sponsors in debt financing transactions
Working knowledge of secured lending transactions
Experience closing transactions and drafting documents and issues lists
Preferred: familiarity with Article 9 of the UCC, acquisition financing, debt securities offerings, and general corporate law
JD or equivalent and strong academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school
Training and development experience at a large law firm
Ability to manage multiple diverse projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail
