Join a leading organisation for a full-time, hybrid, two-month engagement based in East Melbourne. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen your legal career within a dynamic disputes practice.

You will manage and advise on negligence and personal injury claims, handling both litigated and non-litigated matters, including physical and psychological injury matters and sensitive institutional abuse claims. You will develop claims strategies, provide practical legal advice, brief and instruct external counsel, negotiate settlements, and participate in mediations.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years' experience in disputes, with a strong track record from private practice or in-house roles within large organisations. You will have strong knowledge of court processes, evidentiary requirements, and civil liability principles, along with excellent stakeholder management skills.

Minimum of 5 years' experience as a disputes lawyer
Current Australian practising certificate and right to live and work in Australia
Experience managing negligence and personal injury claims, both litigated and non-litigated
Experience with physical and psychological injury matters and sensitive institutional abuse claims
Knowledge of negligence, personal injury, and civil liability principles
Strong litigation and dispute resolution experience, including briefing external counsel
Experience negotiating settlements and participating in mediations
Strong stakeholder management, analytical, and communication skills
