Senior in-house employment lawyer role within an established international professional-services firm. You will lead employee relations strategy and operational delivery across the UK and Brussels, reporting to the Chief People Officer and working closely with HR, Legal, Risk and senior leaders.

Key responsibilities include leading complex employee relations cases (grievances, disciplinaries, dismissals, long‑term absence and mental‑health matters), overseeing investigations, advising on restructurings and cross‑border issues, and developing HR policy, governance and compliance frameworks. The role includes capability building, training managers and using ER data to inform senior‑level decisions.

This is a hands‑on strategic post that requires advising senior stakeholders, ensuring regulatory compliance across jurisdictions, and promoting pragmatic, early‑resolution approaches to minimise formal escalation.

  • Qualified England & Wales solicitor with approximately 5 years' PQE and strong employment law expertise.
  • Proven experience handling complex, sensitive or high‑risk employee relations matters in a regulated or partnership environment.
  • Demonstrable ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide trusted, pragmatic advice to leaders and people managers.
  • Experience managing cross‑border ER issues (UK/Belgium) and working with local advisers on jurisdictional compliance.
  • Track record of running investigations, advising on restructurings/redundancies and drafting/reviewing HR policy and governance documentation.
  • Experience designing and delivering training, and using ER data/insight to shape people strategy.
