This search stays open for the right book, not to a published deadline. Approaches are welcome at any point in your own timeline.

We are seeking a partner-level energy attorney with a strong focus on data center work to join a premier global platform. This is an evergreen search with no cap on hires for the right candidates.

  • Role: Partner, Energy (transactional focus preferred)
  • Location: Washington, D.C., Houston, or Dallas (other major U.S. markets considered for groups/duos)
  • Practice: Energy, with emphasis on data center infrastructure and transactional matters
  • Why now: Data center energy work is a top strategic priority, and the firm is a recognized major player in this space, representing several leading hyperscale data center operators.
  • Platform: A global leader in energy, ranked by Chambers, with deep cross-practice resources spanning real estate, water, public policy, and traditional utility work. Collaboration across offices and practices is a hallmark.
  • Culture: No geographic or practice silos; hybrid work with flexibility (generally three days per week in office, practice-dependent).
  • Open to: Lateral partners with a portable book of business, including those from large firms or boutiques, provided client billing rates align.
  • Portable book of business of $1.5M+ (USD)
  • Billing rate of at least $1,000/hour
  • Transactional energy experience with data center exposure
  • U.S.-based, with preference for D.C., Houston, or Dallas
  • Self-sufficient book of business; no service partners, no regulatory agency or in-house candidates
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-practice environment

Where the match is not obvious from the description, it is usually still worth talking — the specification tends to follow the practice.
