Exciting Tokyo‑based opportunity for foreign‑qualified lawyers to join a major international corporate practice. The role is focused on cross‑border M&A and other international corporate transactions where you will apply your home‑jurisdiction expertise while working closely with Japan‑qualified colleagues.

There are two related tracks: (1) Non‑Japan‑qualified (NJQ) associate responsibilities on international deals, and (2) a Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) role focused on high‑quality English legal drafting, document review and practice support across M&A, corporate and finance matters. Both roles require strong drafting and analytical ability in English.

The firm offers competitive remuneration tied to experience, and can provide visa/relocation support for international hires. Candidates should be prepared to work primarily in English; Japanese language ability is welcome but not required.

Non‑Japan‑qualified associate: current foreign bar qualification and approximately 2 years' post‑qualification experience in a common law or other relevant jurisdiction.
Professional Support Lawyer: native/near‑native English and 2+ years' legal drafting/transactional experience (M&A, corporate or finance preferred).
Strong English drafting, document‑review and analytical skills; experience on cross‑border M&A transactions advantageous.
Ability to collaborate with Japan‑qualified lawyers on Japanese law aspects; Japanese language skills welcomed but not mandatory.
