Fund Formation Associate — Private Equity & Hedge Funds, New York

An established New York office is seeking a fund formation associate with 3–7 years of experience to join its transactional financial services practice. The role centers on representing sponsors in the formation and structuring of private equity and/or hedge funds.

Candidates with investor-side representation experience will also be considered, as the practice advises across both sides of fund transactions. An understanding of the regulatory framework affecting fund managers and funds—including matters under the Advisers Act—is preferred.

• 3–7 years of relevant experience in fund formation
• Sponsor-side private equity and/or hedge fund formation experience required; investor-side representation also relevant
• Familiarity with regulatory matters affecting fund managers and funds, including the Advisers Act, preferred
• Strong drafting, analytical, and client-communication skills
• Admission to the New York bar (or eligible to practice)
