A leading law firm seeks a dynamic associate to join its National Security practice, focusing on government contracts and grants. This attorney will advise clients on government contracts and grants terms, compliance, and administration, and assist with the negotiation of prime and subcontracts and teaming agreements.

The role involves counseling deal teams, clients, and investors on government contracts and grants issues in the context of M&A and financing transactions, including diligence and novations. The position sits within the National Security Group, working alongside colleagues handling foreign investment, export controls, sanctions, and related regulatory areas.

In-house experience is highly desirable. Preferred location is Washington, DC. Compensation includes a salary range of $260,000 – $365,000 based on year classification, with discretionary merit bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.

3–5 years of government contracts and grants experience
Experience with OTAs, SBA and SBIR rules, GSA/FSS programs, and financial assistance agreements
Familiarity with government contracts and grants in M&A and financing transactions (diligence, novations)
Strong academic credentials and excellent communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
In-house experience is highly desirable
