Insurance Transactional Lateral Partner

We are representing an Am Law 100 firm seeking a lateral partner to join its insurance transactional practice. This role sits within a broader US insurance rebuild, with a strong emphasis on regulatory crossover into M&A and digital assets. The firm has a fully integrated global partnership, substantial US growth commitments, and a collaborative culture that prioritizes team-based client development.

The ideal candidate will bring a deep insurance regulatory foundation, complemented by transactional capability, and a track record of building and deepening client relationships. The firm is open to a team move (including associates and counsel) and values candidates who can integrate into existing client relationships across sectors. The role can be based in New York, Houston, or Washington, D.C., with flexibility for exceptional candidates in other locations.

This search is focused on a lateral partner who can anchor the insurance rebuild with regulatory depth and cross over into transactional work. The firm does not expect a standalone book—rather, they seek a collaborative partner who will work alongside other partners to grow client relationships globally.

• JD from a top-tier law school (or equivalent) and admission to the bar in the relevant US jurisdiction.
• Significant experience in insurance regulatory matters, with a strong foundation in insurance M&A, reinsurance, and/or corporate transactional work.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage client relationships, with a collaborative approach to cross-selling and team-based client service.
• Portable book of business of $2M+ (USD)
