A highly regarded law firm is seeking a mid-level to senior intellectual property litigation associate to join its established IP & Technology practice group. The role is available across several major U.S. markets and offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated patent disputes with real stakes for clients' core products.

The patent litigation team is a substantial group of dedicated trial and appellate lawyers who handle complex disputes across the leading patent jurisdictions, coordinating federal district court litigation and International Trade Commission actions with proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. A significant portion of the team holds advanced engineering or scientific credentials, giving the group deep technical fluency alongside courtroom experience.

The associate will represent clients in patent disputes involving technologies such as electronic devices, semiconductors, integrated circuits, and mechanical devices, with opportunities to appear in federal district courts, before the ITC, and at the PTAB. This is a hands-on role on high-responsibility matters with direct client contact and cross-office collaboration.

  • Degree in computer science or electrical engineering
  • Approximately four or more years of patent litigation experience
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Experience with district court patent litigation; PTAB or ITC experience a plus
  • Ability to manage substantial responsibilities on complex matters and contribute effectively within a team
  • Currently licensed, or eligible to become licensed, in the relevant jurisdiction
