Practice Area: Intellectual Property — Patent Litigation (Life Sciences / Biotechnology)

Experience: 2–6 years of significant patent litigation experience in U.S. District Courts and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, including post-grant proceedings. Ideal candidates will have a background in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or another life sciences discipline, and experience working within the IP department of a comparable law firm. Strong academic credentials and excellent writing skills are required.

Responsibilities:

Participate in underlying case analyses and develop case strategy.
Conduct factual and legal research; draft pleadings and motions.
Engage in discovery on infringement, validity, and damages, including depositions and expert discovery.
Draft dispositive and discovery motions and claim construction briefing.
Participate in pre-trial and trial activities.
Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel, and take an active role in strategic development.

Undergraduate or master's degree in a life sciences discipline (biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field).
2–6 years of patent litigation experience, including in U.S. District Courts and before the PTAB.
Experience with ANDA or other life sciences patent litigation.
Comfort with court appearances, depositions, and direct client and opposing counsel communication.
Excellent writing and research skills.
