Knowledge Management Attorney (Insurance + IP)

A leading law firm is seeking a Knowledge Management Attorney to serve as the embedded knowledge management expert and liaison for its Insurance and Intellectual Property department. The role covers the Insurance + Reinsurance Litigation, Insurance Transactional + Regulatory, Intellectual Property, and Privacy + Cyber practice groups.

You will create, distribute, and manage model documents and forms; develop and organize knowledge resources; implement and promote relevant technology; prepare and present training materials; and manage internal and external thought leadership content. The position plays a critical role in driving operational efficiency through knowledge management solutions aligned with the firm's strategic objectives.

Working closely with knowledge management and innovation leadership, you will evaluate and implement new technologies, champion technology adoption and organizational change, and collaborate with practice management and AI partners on knowledge and training needs. The role supports lateral onboarding, conducts knowledge succession planning, and partners with administrative departments on firm-wide initiatives.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing.
• Minimum five (5) years of law firm experience in relevant practice groups.
• Deep expertise in the workflows and day-to-day needs of attorneys in insurance litigation, insurance transactional and regulatory, intellectual property, and privacy and cyber practice groups.
• Demonstrated experience in knowledge management, legal research, and practice support, including knowledge management tools such as databases, intranets, portals, search engines, and document management systems.
• Proven experience with legal technology, project management, and business planning.
• Experience using generative AI tools beyond casual use, with a validation-focused approach to AI output.
• Technical expertise around how AI systems are built and evaluated.
• Strong working knowledge of document management systems such as iManage.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work on cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.
