A leading national law firm is seeking a talented Senior Associate or Counsel to join its Labor & Employment Department. This role is not a traditional employment law position — it sits at the intersection of employment law, executive mobility, and corporate transactions, advising on high-stakes matters where workforce decisions directly affect enterprise value, leadership continuity, and deal success.

Working closely with nationally ranked Healthcare, Private Equity, and M&A teams, you will counsel corporate clients and private equity sponsors on employment issues arising from acquisitions, divestitures, leadership transitions, restrictive covenant disputes, and post-closing integration. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients and a key resource to deal teams, applying strategic thinking, seasoned judgment, and the ability to move quickly.

This is an opportunity to build a practice blending strategic advisory work, risk assessment, transactional counseling, and crisis management in a fast-moving, high-stakes environment where contributions are visible and valued. The role is part of a national search with a focus on several major U.S. markets.

  • Senior associate or counsel-level experience in labor and employment law
  • Experience counseling on workplace policies, compliance, employee relations, and HR matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage-and-hour issues
  • Experience advising on restrictive covenants and wage misclassification, including structuring, drafting, and enforceability of non-competition, non-solicitation, and confidentiality obligations
  • Experience leading employment-related due diligence in corporate and private equity transactions, with the ability to identify and prioritize material risks and develop practical mitigation strategies
  • Ability to independently manage complex employment matters and transactional workstreams and to supervise and mentor junior associates
  • Strong judgment and discretion in advising senior executives and corporate leadership on sensitive personnel, leadership transition, and governance issues
