Lateral Partner — Private Equity Secondaries, New York

High-profile law firm is seeking a lateral partner to join its Private Equity Secondaries practice in New York. The role focuses on advising on secondary transactions involving fund interests on both buy‑side and sell‑side matters across a cross‑border platform.

The successful candidate will lead complex transactional work, manage deal teams, and develop business with institutional investors and sponsor clients. The practice regularly collaborates with corporate, investment management and fund teams on structuring, documentation and risk allocation for secondaries deals.

This is an opportunistic senior hire. The team values an established, portable practice and a proven track record in secondaries transactions; seniority and specific responsibilities will be calibrated to the strength of the candidate’s book of business.

• Partner-level experience advising on private equity secondary transactions (buy- and/or sell-side).
• Proven ability to originate and develop client relationships; portable practice preferred.
• Strong transactional skills: structuring, negotiation and documentation of fund-interest transfers.
• Comfort working on cross‑border matters and coordinating with complementary corporate and investment management teams.
