The role focuses on lead-level transactional work, construction agreements and dispute avoidance, development and financing matters, and counseling owners, developers, lenders and contractors.
The successful candidate will build and manage a portable practice, originate and grow client relationships, and work collaboratively across related practices (e.g., finance, land use). This role includes significant client-facing responsibility and senior leadership within the team.
The firm offers a full-service platform and national reach to support complex, cross-border and regional matters while providing local autonomy for practice development in the Chicago market.
- Partner-level experience in real estate and construction law with a substantial record of transactional and project work.
- Active bar admission in Illinois or willingness to obtain admission; strong knowledge of local market practice and regulations.
- Proven history of originating or materially growing client relationships; ability to bring or develop a portable practice.
- Demonstrated team leadership and mentoring skills, excellent drafting and negotiation abilities, and comfort working across practice groups.
