A well-regarded Australian independent firm is seeking one or more Lawyers or Associates to join its specialist Statutory Lines Insurance team in Melbourne. This is a rare opening in a close-knit, collaborative group whose breadth and depth of work has kept the team stable for years.

You will advise Commonwealth clients, Government agencies and self-insured companies on a diverse range of statutory issues — managing claims and supporting litigation — and take part in regular advocacy in the Administrative Review Tribunal and other courts. The work spans administrative law matters in a fast-paced environment, offering unusual variety and early responsibility.

1–3 years' experience gained in a well-regarded insurance or administrative law practice, working on statutory issues and claims and/or administrative law
Newly admitted lawyers with pre-admission experience are encouraged to apply
Experience or a keen interest in advocacy
Well-developed analytical and drafting skills
Exceptional communication and organisational skills, with a collaborative approach
