A leading global law firm is seeking a Legal Technology & AI Attorney to join its Tech & Innovation Industry Group, working at the intersection of legal practice, technology, and experimentation. This role is designed for a lawyer with a strong foundation in technology-sector legal work who is also deeply engaged with how AI and new ways of working are reshaping legal practice. The position may be based in any U.S. office, with New York or Palo Alto preferred.

As part of the firm's Knowledge Management & AI Group, the attorney will collaborate across offices and administrative teams—including Research, Practice Group Management, and Information Technology—to translate emerging technology into practical, high-impact tools for lawyers and clients. The role reports to a senior director and counsel of knowledge and AI.

Responsibilities span identifying opportunities to apply AI, automation, and emerging technologies across technology and product regulatory counseling, government and regulatory investigations, technology and IP litigation, artificial intelligence, privacy, cybersecurity, data matters, technology transactions, and commercial agreements. The attorney will evaluate, prototype, and implement AI-assisted tools, document automation solutions, prompt libraries, and technology-enabled workflows; participate in technology pilots and assessments; lead training sessions for attorneys and staff; and help build scalable precedent and knowledge infrastructure. The role also involves modernizing knowledge assets, integrating evolving legal and market developments into model materials, and serving as a trusted internal resource for Tech & Innovation lawyers.

  • J.D., Bachelor of Laws, or equivalent with strong academic credentials; admitted to practice and in good standing in the state of the base office
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a technology-focused practice
  • Demonstrated passion for AI and emerging technology, with a strong perspective on their application to legal practice and workflows
  • Ability to apply legal training to new contexts, including workflow design, tool development, or process improvement; personal or professional coding or tech-related building experience highly valued
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with attorneys, technologists, and administrative professionals
  • Strong initiative, critical thinking, and independent judgment in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Creative and strategic thinker open to experimentation, iteration, and multiple approaches to complex problems
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage concurrent priorities and deadlines
  • Commitment to knowledge-sharing, efficiency, and excellence in legal work with a focus on client service and business impact
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across practice groups and departments
  • Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information
