An international law firm's Tokyo office seeks a litigation associate with 3–5 years of experience to join its dedicated disputes team in Japan. The team advises global companies in Japanese and English on complex, high-profile contentious matters, providing strategic counsel both locally and in real time.

The role focuses on class action defense and product liability / mass tort litigation, including briefing class certification and summary judgment, responding to written discovery, and conducting depositions, oral arguments, and expert interviews. 3–5 years of litigation experience
Class action defense experience in false advertising, product defect, or false representation; and/or mass tort, MDL, or product liability litigation
Familiarity with California Unfair Competition Law
Experience with class certification and/or summary judgment briefing, drafting briefs and correspondence, and responding to written discovery
Deposition, oral argument, and expert interview experience
Excellent written and oral communication, strong case management, and a collaborative work ethic
Outstanding research and analytical skills
Native, fluent, or business-level Japanese language proficiency preferred
Admitted to the relevant state bar or eligible to waive in
