Apply in confidence →Growing patent prosecution team seeks a patent agent or junior associate with a broad engineering background to join the Washington, D.C. office. Work will focus on drafting and prosecuting U.S. patent applications across mechanical, electrical and related technologies, with opportunities to collaborate with patent strategists and litigators.
The role values candidates comfortable with thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid flow or energy systems, and those with experience in materials, biomedical, nuclear or similar engineering disciplines. Strong writing, analytical skills and excellent academic credentials are required.
- 2–4 years of patent prosecution experience (associate candidates: minimum 3 years of legal practice including substantive prosecution)
- Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in mechanical, nuclear, materials, biomedical engineering or related field
- USPTO registration and prior patent examiner experience strongly preferred; demonstrated experience drafting and prosecuting U.S. patent applications and responding to Office Actions
- Associate candidates must hold a J.D. and be admitted and in good standing with the relevant bar; strong writing and analytical ability
