A global law firm is seeking a mid-level Patent Associate or Patent Agent to join its dynamic Intellectual Property Practice Group in New Jersey. This full-time opportunity supports the firm's national and international platform, offering exposure to a broad range of IP matters on behalf of clients of all sizes across diverse industries.

The role involves strategic development, procurement, and counseling of patent portfolios, with a focus on drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the computer arts. The New Jersey team maintains a strong local presence while benefiting from the reach and resources of a major global firm.

2–4 years of focused experience in patent prosecution
Experience drafting patent applications in the computer arts (e.g., software, AI/ML/LLMs, FinTech, web applications, telecommunications, integrated circuits)
Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
Degree or advanced degree in computer engineering and/or computer science preferred; electrical engineering or other relevant degrees considered
Demonstrated experience drafting complex software patent applications required
Excellent academic credentials, strong writing and analytical skills, and comfort working directly with clients
