Senior energy lawyer role within a market-facing Energy Projects team, open to candidates in the UK (Bristol or London). The role combines transactional work with regulatory and market-design advice across power, renewables and storage.

Key workstreams include grid connection and use-of-system arrangements, offtake and route-to-market structures (including corporate PPAs and optimisation arrangements), and regulatory advice on licence conditions, industry codes and emerging revenue support mechanisms. You will sit as a senior member of the project team, supporting transactions, project finance and cross-discipline mandates.

Responsibility includes client relationship development, business development, and supervising and developing more junior lawyers within a collaborative team environment.

  • Proven experience in UK energy regulation and commercial/transactional work (firm-side or in-house).
  • Experience advising on grid connection, industry codes and licence/regulatory issues; familiarity with capacity market, CfD and revenue support mechanisms desirable.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills; able to lead complex workstreams and interface with technical, commercial and financing teams.
  • Track record of supervising junior lawyers and contributing to business development and know‑how.
  • Desirable: exposure to novel energy transition technologies (hydrogen, long‑duration storage, CCUS, behind‑the‑meter or heat networks).
