A leading national law firm seeks a Public Finance Counsel to join its nationally recognized Public Finance Practice Group, part of its Public and Private Infrastructure & Real Estate Department. The group guides clients through all types of tax-exempt and taxable financings for non-profit, higher education, for-profit, energy infrastructure, healthcare, and similar clients, handling every aspect of a financing or refinancing.

The Counsel will take a leading role on transactions, handling matters from structuring through closing with a high degree of independence. As a primary point of contact for clients, issuers, underwriters, lenders, and other working group members, the role involves reviewing, drafting, and analyzing underlying credit support, tax, construction, and management agreements; drafting and negotiating financing and offering documents, certificates, and opinions; and analyzing complex federal tax issues.

The position also includes supervising and mentoring associates and paralegals, working with partners to develop client relationships, and supporting the practice's business development efforts. Experience in public finance, ideally with tax-exempt and taxable financings
Strong drafting and negotiation skills for financing and offering documents
