We are working with a national full-service firm seeking to expand its real estate practice across several key US markets. This is a strategic growth initiative driven by substantial referral work and succession planning needs.
- South Florida (Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami): Two searches: (1) a group of two to three partners with a compelling, self-sustaining book of business, ideally bringing junior partners or senior associates to absorb immediate overflow work; (2) a more junior individual partner who is sophisticated enough to receive work and run deals independently.
- Southern California: A partner group with a strong portable book—a single lateral will not suffice.
- Texas (Houston, Dallas): A highly sophisticated partner or group in real estate (or corporate) to strengthen the full-service platform.
- Philadelphia: A next-generation real estate leader, junior to mid-level partner, to drive succession planning.
The firm has a national presence with over 35 offices and nearly 1,100 attorneys. It evolved from a specialty insurance practice into a full-service firm and has a strong culture of lateral integration, cross-selling, and entrepreneurial growth. No capital contribution is required to join, and the C Corporation structure means no multi-jurisdiction tax filings for partners.
- JD with a strong academic background and admission to practice in the relevant state.
- For South Florida group: two to three partners with a compelling, self-sustaining book of business, ideally with portable support staff.
- For South Florida junior partner: roughly $1M or slightly below in portable book, with a trajectory toward $1M+ (e.g., $500K, $750K, $800K growth). Must be sophisticated enough to handle work handed off and run deals independently.
- For Southern California: a group with a compelling book of business—no individual laterals.
- For Texas: highly sophisticated, portable book, likely to bring others.
- For Philadelphia: JD class between 2011 and early 2000s, senior enough for sophisticated work and mentoring.
- Entrepreneurial, collaborative, willing to share credit and cross-sell.
- Proven track record of business development and client relationships.
- Portable book of business of $2M+ (USD)
