We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Associate or Senior Associate (3+ PQE) to join our Planning practice, supporting some of the largest energy, infrastructure, and development projects in Scotland and the UK.

You will be part of a growing, dynamic team ranked Band 1 in Chambers, with exposure to diverse work types and a good degree of responsibility. You will take a lead role supporting partners in delivering major projects, including development consent orders, compulsory purchase and compensation matters, planning applications and appeals, consents, marine licences, environmental impact assessment and habitats regulation, public inquiries, roads law, judicial review, asset protection, planning agreements, and associated real estate and energy transactions. You will regularly collaborate with colleagues across the wider Real Estate and Energy teams, acting for some of the largest developers, energy companies, utilities, and public sector bodies. The team currently holds several high-profile mandates.

The team operates on a UK-wide basis; the role can be tailored to focus solely on Scotland or a UK-wide mix.

You will:

Be a qualified solicitor with 3+ PQE.
Demonstrate an interest in and enthusiasm for energy & infrastructure consenting and/or development planning.
Have solid experience in a recognised planning team; DCO and/or CPO experience is beneficial.
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills and a strong academic background.
Show ambition to succeed, with commitment to business development and client relationship management.
Be commercially orientated with a commitment to innovation.
Work independently and as part of a team.
Be well-organised with strong administrative and time management skills, able to meet demanding deadlines.
