Our client, an AmLaw 20 global law firm, is seeking a Lateral Partner to join its market-leading Restructuring practice in New York. This is an exceptional opportunity to build a complex restructuring practice within a firm that is making significant strategic investments in restructuring, private credit, and private equity.
The group handles the full spectrum of high-end restructuring work, including difficult debtor cases, creditor committee representations, bankruptcy litigation, and financing for companies in financial distress, as well as cross-border restructurings spanning the US, UK, Latin America, and other key jurisdictions. As part of this role, you will play a central role in expanding the firm's international restructuring platform, with resources and support across the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America.
We are looking for a collaborative, business-minded partner with a portable client base who can work alongside complementary colleagues to capture more of the complex matters already flowing through the group. The firm values partners who bring strong technical skills, a willingness to build with others, and the ability to support themselves financially while growing through the firm's extensive relationships.
- Significant experience in complex restructuring and bankruptcy matters, including debtor representations, creditor committee appointments, bankruptcy litigation, and financing for financially troubled companies.
- Established reputation and relationships within the restructuring community, ideally with capability and credibility in complex, cross-border matters.
- Willingness to collaborate with teammates across offices and practices to grow the firm's restructuring platform.
- Admission to the New York Bar (or ability to obtain admission promptly).
- Portable book of business of $2M+ (USD)
